That remind me why I pay 125$ a month for heated underground parking.

Yeah, I've been thinking about breaking down and doing the same...

Know what you mean, but mine is indoor, but not exactly heated, and I pay $195. Think I really hate you now.

I went for it after this happened. Although i had been on the wait list I was finally offered the spot 1 week after this fateful evening struck. If only a week earlier and Id probably still be driving that beautiful little machine. Oh well got the ST now and she sleeps safe and sound at 70 degree.

Even being inside helps so much. just keeping it sheltered and off of the street is a bonus. My gf uses an outdoor off street spot because she has the older car (and pays less of the rent) I dont think i could go back to on street parking since i got this space. In milwaukee rent is cheap but finding a place with a parking spot is difficult, and usually requires a wait list. Once you have the spot you do everything in your power to keep it lol.

I remember your story.
Wow, they aren't skimping on heat in there, lol. My SHO is braving the elements every night, haha. I usually do manage to find parking on a fairly quiet side street, so it isn't really keeping me up at night, but I wouldn't mind being a little kinder to my car...
The advantage, I am now at Boss-level for parallel parking my land-barge :P

haha yeah I think i have told different parts at different times on this site. Not to scare you but my car was parked on a quiet street. Also the building I live in is hooked up to the cities oldschool steam heat system. The basement is where all of the pipes run for the heat so they actually add alot of temp to the basement along with what is already being pumped there for heating purposes. On a warmer winter day it can get quite sultry down there.

I would rather pay for indoor non-heated. Melting the road slush and ice on your car is worse for corrosion. Keeping it frozen keeps that salt trapped. Although I keep my cars for a long time. If you change cars with frequency, I would totally go for the heated.

The heated is just kinda there, It wasnt really an option i had, it was either outside off street or indoors. While ur right about the melting of the snow and slush causing problems for corrosion, I do wash my car (and underside) frequently throughout winter just to make sure I dont have excessive buildup. Definitely rather have the car out of the elements throughout these tough winter than not.

Indoor is always good. It is pretty much the same here in New Jersey, well the closer you stay to New York City I guess. Its street parking in my neighborhood, and I usually never get a parking spot in front of my apartment. So I park half a mile away from where I stay. There are just too many families on my street. And more over I saw a snow plow hit a brand new Chrysler 300 on my street, and that wasn't a very pretty sight. The good thing is I use the train to work, so I really don't need to take the car out everyday. But it kinda sucks when you have to walk to the train station in bad weather lol..

This is exactly why a 3-car, fully insulated, heated garage was a BIG selling point on my house. I'll happily pay to drive the cars through a car wash between storms to remove the now freed salt.

Right on. I wish my building had indoor parking. I live in an old Book Binding Factory, me heat is electric. I didn't know that electric heat could be done effectively, but apparently it can. Because my bill isn't bad at all, lol.

Exactly my take on this. Id much rather keep it nice and protected and have to cough up some cash for the spot and extra car washes.
